I swear...one of
these days there will be a great brain somewhere who will find the cure to
Expectations.
It is one of the main reasons why people fight wars, kill each other, kill in general and it is that for which one kills oneself and so on and so forth.
No seriously think about it, if there were no Expectations in this world from oneself, from others, from things, from anything and almost everything, would there have been any problems in this world at all??
No, please take 5 minutes off your extremely busy or vella (whatever pleases you!) schedule and think about it!!!
We go through years of punishments and "education" in the Expectation of getting through some decent (in some cases very reputed) college, then slog a few years there in the expectation of either pursuing higher studies or getting a job. Then, lets say we get lucky and get a job, we are expected to do well there and make money! All that 'jhamela' to make a living! I tell you I am assured that I can do the same by selling some real 'jhal phuchkas' at Gariahat.
Lets say one makes it and gets a good job, the next thing you know, expectations of settling down and making babies, oops I mean starting a family, start to build up ! And they keep piling up ,from varied areas.
First, lets take marriage/relationships/love all in one category.
See, if you fall in love, then you, my friend, are very much in trouble. But, if someone falls in love with you and you have not, oh dear lord, your life will become an endless pit of misery. See, the reason being, you will neither be able to love the person nor be able to make him/her not love you! And, then in all this, Expectation will come forth with battle gear in place. Then, my dear friend I would suggest that you make a run for it!
I shall go back to the whole Expectations in the Love arena in a while.(I have suddenly lost interest in the subject!)
Let me tell you about one arena where Expectations hurts the most. Friendship.
Two people meet, they talk, they find each other interesting, they find common things to talk about. All is well in Candy land.
But, then, these two people start hanging out even more. And, they become friends and then Expectation peeps in. All Hell breaks loose then.These two people at different given times start expecting things from each other which neither can fulfil. When one does, even then he falls short in front of the other’s expectations. And, then, what had started off as harmless friendly banter ends up as world war 3.
I can actually go on and on and on about how Expectation is the Real Conspiracy theory that has come into being to destroy Human Kind. And, a happy jolly Man is sitting up there having a real good time as He watches us poor beings expecting and going crazy in the heads and finishing ourselves off when we could have easily just taken life easy with no Expectations whatsoever! :)
